Gretchen Renshaw

Gretchen has been teaching horticulture to adults for 30 years, while simultaneously pursuing several careers.  She has a BS in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly SLO, and spent a few years working in landscaping.  She then switched careers to software development and spent a decade in that field.  Once her children were born, she worked part time in several different capacities, both paid and volunteer.  Beginning in 1992 she was part of a volunteer group that founded, built and maintain the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden, a demonstration sustainable garden.  She has been continuously involved with MBBG since that time.  In 2013, she completed teacher training through UCLA Extension, and is now an elementary school STEAM specialist in Manhattan Beach Unified School District.
