Jim Hjort

Jim Hjort holds a MSW from USC, and is certified as a mindfulness instructor by UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. His journey to a career helping others was born of his own adversity, beginning early in life, when he became homeless at age 10.

He is a personal development trainer, helping individuals and organizations to rebound from adversity to all-new levels of well-being and performance. His approach is practical and grounded in the latest theory and research in psychology, neurobiology, social psychology, and other fields, and he encourages his students and clients to assess it in light of their own life experiences. You may explore his extensive library of articles and videos on a variety of personal development topics, in addition to guided meditations, on his website: www.jimhjort.com.

Jim is also a licensed clinical social worker, providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples affected by addiction, trauma, and mood and personality disorders (www.jimhjorttherapy.com). He has received advanced training in clinical interventions including Gestalt Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as clinical hypnosis.
