Josh Yunis

Joshua Yunis is a writer-director based in Los Angeles. He is the director of CAMP, an indie feature produced by Rabbit Bandini Productions, which is slated for release in spring 2023. Mixing both comedy and drama, CAMP is an ensemble coming-of-age story about teenagers who navigate friendship, romance, and betrayal in their final year of sleep-away camp.

Josh received his MFA in production/directing from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. His short film, The Schwartz Test, was selected by a panel of industry professionals to screen as the opening film at the 2014 UCLA Film Festival, where it also won the award for Best Screenplay. The film went on to play at the Newport Beach Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, Bahamas International Film Festival, and the Hollywood Comedy Shorts Film Festival.

It also won the Gerald Hughes Comedy Directing Award. Josh’s work has also garnered him an Edie and Lew Wasserman production grant, the Jim Morrison Film Award, and a grant from the National Association of Theater Owners of California/Nevada.

Originally from New York, Josh received his B.A. in cinema studies and philosophy at New York University. His work is rooted in the diaspora Jewish experience of his upbringing, and often involves Jewish people complaining about how uneven their table is at the restaurant.
