Katherine Markova

<p>Katherine Markova is a seasoned finance professional with 20 years of experience in accounting, tax and treasury roles. Katherine is a California CPA (inactive) and has several Tax and Treasury qualifications. One of Katherine’s areas of expertise when working in finance was sustainable taxation (strategies, governance and tax transparency).</p>

<p>In 2021 Katherine decided to make a pivot into the climate space and completed the UCLA Extension Sustainability Certificate.</p>

<p>In 2022, Katherine joined 3Degrees as a consultant in the Energy & Climate Practice (ECP) Strategy team. In this role, Katherine works with corporates to help them reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Katherine has supported clients with educating their sustainability teams and executives on matters pertaining to climate change and corporate sustainability, setting a climate strategy, e.g., using the Science-Based Targets initiative’s framework, understanding their renewable energy procurement options and developing a carbon credit procurement strategy.</p>

<p>Katherine also has expertise in climate risk and opportunity assessment and reporting.</p>

<p>Katherine is passionate about climate education and unleashing the power of personal finance to channel capital into climate-positive programs.</p>
