writer, editor, and producer working in Los Angeles. For the past 12 years, Ms. Eakin has been working in entertainment journalism, first at The A.V. Club and then as a freelance journalist for Vulture, Input, Kindling, Input, USA Today, Reviewed, LitHub, Uproxx, and Fodors.

 

Instructor Statement

Marah Eakin is an experienced writer, editor, and producer working in Los Angeles. For the past 12 years, she's been working in entertainment journalism, first as a local editor for The A.V. Club then as the site's Music Editor, Senior Editor, and Head Of Video and Podcasts. She's done everything from an oral history of the Double Dare obstacle course to chats with George Clooney and Julia Roberts to producing her own successful podcasts. Most recently, she's been exploring the freelance world, and has written for Vulture, Input, Kindling, USA Today, Reviewed, LitHub, Uproxx, and Fodors. Prior to joining The A.V. Club, Marah was in the music industry, acting as a publicist for acts like Calexico, Pinback, and the late Justin Townes Earle. Marah holds a BSJ ('03) and ME ('04) from Ohio University. She is a member of the Critics Choice Association and is a one-time Jeopardy! champion.
