Mary Carosello

Mary Beth Carosello

Mary Beth Carosello received her B.A. in art history from the University of Missouri and, after graduation, she worked at The Saint Louis Art Museum where she helped to coordinate the Gentileschi: Father and Daughter exhibition.  After receiving her M.A. from the University of Chicago, Mary Beth moved to Los Angeles where she worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles as the Research Assistant to Paul Schimmel, Chief Curator on the Robert Rauschenberg: Combines exhibition.

In 2005 she moved to a position in the Education Department at the J. Paul Getty Museum. As an Exhibition Liaison, she worked with curatorial departments on temporary exhibitions and permanent installations including generation and review of exhibition texts, gallery design, educational programming, and didactic components.  The position also allowed her to curate exhibition didactic spaces and write in-gallery print pieces.  Her specific interest in family audiences led her to develop program content for Family Art Lab and act as the project leader and content developer for the family print piece, Modern Sculpture Art Detective Cards.

She currently is an instructor at UCLA Extension in the Art History department and works as a museum education consultant.
