Merritt Price

Merritt Price is a design leader and educator who has established and led teams at two of North America's most influential cultural institutions. In his current position at The J. Paul Getty Trust, Los Angeles, Mr. Price is responsible for experience design including galleries, special exhibitions, education spaces, and wayfinding systems. The Getty design team influences the visitor experience for 2M guests annually at touch points across two campuses, and collaborates with visitors, staff, and subject specialists from around the world. Highly collaborative team-based work includes art installations, lighting, interpretation, state-of-the art displays and furniture, site signage, streetscape signage, promotional graphics, mobile experiences, digital media, and product development.

Mr. Price previously served as Design Manager for the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto. In his early career he led a design team at Gottschalk + Ash/Keith Muller Ltd. in the creation of a wayfinding system for the largest underground pedestrian pathway in the world, and, for Adamson Industrial Design, in association with architect Moshe Safdie, he created museum furnishings for the National Gallery of Canada.

Mr. Price graduated as an Associate of Industrial Design at the Ontario College of Art, Toronto. He has been a faculty member at the Ontario College of Art and Design (Toronto), Otis College (Los Angeles), and UCLA Extension.
