Neal Weisenberg
For the past 9 years, Neal Weisenberg has served as Art Director of Disney Channel.
Neal is the first and only art director Disney Channel has ever had. In this role, Neal has
guided the on-air visual identity for television’s number one children’s network. During
his tenure, Disney Channel’s total viewer ratings surpassed the competition for the first
time in the channel’s history. Neal was part of the team responsible for the redesign of
the iconic Disney Channel logo and for managing the network’s on-air branding in the
US and internationally. Working across multiple platforms, Neal’s artistic direction can
be seen in Disney Channels all over the world.
Neal’s career in television began in Chicago where he worked for 2 network-owned
stations. As Art Director for CBS 2 Chicago, Neal helped revamp the entire station’s look
across multiple platforms including on-air, print, and digital. In the 2006 BDA North
America Design Awards competition, Neal and his design group won more awards than
any other local TV station in the country.
Prior to CBS 2, Neal worked for ABC 7 for 11 years where his indelible stamp can still be
seen on that station’s on-air brand. Neal’s impeccable attention to detail and breakthrough
creative vision have led to many other professional honors, including 6 Emmys
and countless Promax and BDA awards.
Neal is active in the creative community through his membership in PromaxBDA and
his participation on the Emmys Title Design Committee. For the past 3 years, Neal has
been a adjunct professor at UCLA, teaching a “Graphic Design for Broadcast” class.
