Ph.D, founder and editor at Birdwell Writing and Editing, L.L.C., specializing in copyediting, developmental editing, and content writing. His clients include New York University Press, Duke University Press, and D.I.O. Press, among others.

Instructor Statement

Being an editor demands knowing best practices and style guides. It also demands knowing how to communicate with writers and other editors. In my editing classes, students will learn the techniques of line editing, developmental editing, and other jobs of professional editors. Anticipating the collaborative work of the editing and publishing industry, my classes emphasize hands-on practice, detailed instructor feedback, and group projects.
