Instructor Statement:

The world is full of great stories waiting to be told. I want my students to find those stories and tell them and I try to give them the tools to do so. We start with baby steps--where to get ideas, how to find a market, how to sell an idea. Then we move on to the skills needed--researching the story, interviewing, getting good quotes. And finally, we learn how to put it all together. A writing teacher once told me, "Nobody ever gets worse and worse; everyone only gets better and better." So I encourage students to continue to write, continue to edit and continue to read good writing.

Our Students Say it Best!

“Roberta was very knowledgeable and helpful given her large amount of experience and always answered questions and offered guidance when asked. She cared about the class and put good time into reviewing and helping us in our writing.” —Writers’ Program student
