Todd Coburn
Todd D. Coburn, PhD, PE & DER is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering at California State Polytechnic University Pomona (CPP), where he teaches the structural analysis of aircraft, rockets and spacecraft, including the analysis of metallic and composite structures, and finite elements. He also is a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) authorized by the FAA to approve commercial aircraft structural design, modification and repairs, as well as materials and processes for metallic and composite structures. This keeps him active with industry where he supports these activities on a consulting basis. He is also available as an expert witness through one of his clients. Prior to joining CPP, Todd worked 25 years with the Boeing Company, where he performed structural analysis on the McDonnell Douglas and Boeing fleet of aircraft, on the Delta family of launch vehicles, and on the Scramjet.
