Assistant Teacher - Circle of Children Preschool

Job Summary: 

We’re seeking an attentive, positive, and flexible Assistant Preschool Teacher/Assistant Toddler Teacher to support our Lead Teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and effective learning space for children and families to learn and grow. This candidate understands how to work with children and families with a developmentally appropriate and respectful demeanor and takes pride in being a part of a child’s developmental growth.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Assist Lead Teacher with material preparation, set-up, and take-down and snack preparation and clean-up.
• Provide support in classrooms during rotating lead teacher lunch breaks.
• Welcome children and families to class and help them navigate the play space successfully.
• Supervise children at play while helping generate and initiate play plans, set limits, resolve conflicts, and express needs appropriately.
• Develop positive relationships with children and families while cultivating an awareness of what is going on within the classroom at all times.
• Help maintain a clean, orderly, and appropriately equipped classroom at all times.
• Communicate positively and respectfully with teachers, children, parents, and staff.

Qualifications: 

• Experience in an educational or childcare setting.
• Certification of health from doctor and documentation of all required immunizations, including TB.
• High school diploma or GED
• Child Development Associate Credential or equivalent or be enrolled in a program leading to the same.
• Completion of at least 12 credits Early Childhood Education (ECE).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Valid annual First Aid certificate and CPR for infants/children

Work Hours & Benefits:

• Full-time M, W, TH, F: 8:30am-4pm, Tuesdays: 9:30-5pm
• Part-time M-W-TH-F: 12pm-4pm, Tuesdays: 12:30 -5:00pm
• Five weeks paid vacation in a 10 month school year.
• Optional paid seven week summer camp with the intention of returning the following year.
• Invested in pension plan upon second year of employment as a full time employee.
• Partial payment of health, dental, and vision insurance as full time employee.
