About This Course

Opened in 2015 and free to the public, the Broad Museum is a contemporary art museum featuring the collection of philanthropists and art collectors Eli and Edythe Broad. The collection houses nearly 2,000 pieces and features 200 artists, including seminal works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons and Kara Walker. In this course, we explore look at the building of the collection, the history of the museum and its building, and of the specific works of art in the collection.
