About This Course
Hollywood boasts a plethora of beautiful homes and glamorous retreats where legends of the film industry lived, worked, and played. As the Hollywood movie industry took hold, the stars and their directors cultivated a glamorous lifestyle through their homes, fashions, and cars. In this course, we explore some of the most famous environs of the stars, from their luxurious private homes to their notorious hideaways, and the glittering social environment in which they lived. Our discussion includes the popular architectural styles and interiors of the 1920s and 30s, including Art Deco, Romantic Revivals, and Midcentury Modern. This course will be recorded. Students will have access to the video for 30 days.
