About This Course
The Nazis interned many of Europe's finest musicians in the Terezin concentration camp, 30 miles North of Prague, during World War II. In an effort to survive and with the hope for a better future, some of them composed their best works and some conducted impressive performances that involved hundreds of inmates. The Nazis used Terezin as part of their propaganda machine to clean their image, by showcasing works by artists who were later killed in Auschwitz. In this course, with the help of audiovisuals, we'll discover the strength of the human spirit. through a lost generation of world class talent, including Viktor Ullman, Pavel Haas, Gideon Klein and Raphael Schachter. This course will be recorded. Students will have access to the video for 30 days.
