Beauty professionals from all genres and areas of expertise will find this course essential for understanding ingredient technologies and U.S. regulations – regardless of scientific background. Starting with the concepts of natural, chemical, synthetic and organic, students will learn about the claims legally allowed for cosmetics and drugs in the U.S., how to read product ingredient lists, and will receive an overview of basic ingredients used in product systems, including, surfactants, emulsifiers, emollients, silicones, preservatives, colorants and fragrance.
