"Students often enter seeing a great distance between what they want, and the means to get there. The studio can be used not only as a training environment to cultivate technical skill and critical thinking, but as a tool to blur the very difference between technique and critical thought. The goal is to use the ongoing practice and exercise of the mental and physical space of the studio, to cultivate intellectual immediacy, to shorten the distance between the intention and the execution, and ultimately, to empower students to take ownership over their own creativity."
