Nadia Jones

Nadia began her career in college and career access during her undergraduate journey as a College Advisor for a federally funded college readiness program. This was a catalyst to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and Africana studies; a Master of Science degree in secondary school counseling, both from CSU, Long Beach; and finally, a secondary education administrative credential from CSU, Dominguez Hills.

As an inner-city youth from Compton, Nadia understands the barriers to access and motivation required to help first-generation, low income, minority youth to develop self-efficacy and thrive. With over 10 years of secondary counseling experience, Nadia has worked with youth and families of the following populations - homeless, foster, special needs and gifted, multilingual learners, and undocumented, throughout the Los Angeles County area; both traditional and charter school settings.

Currently, Nadia works as a secondary school counselor in Los Angeles County, where she is responsible for providing academic, social-emotional, collegiate support to high school students and families. Most notably, in November 2022, Nadia was featured in the "SoCal Regional Newsletter - Counselor Highlight" for California Association for School Counselors (CASC) for "creating a safe space for students and families. Her patience is truly admirable...going above and beyond to ensure that her students come first in all the decision-making and onboard community partners very strategically in her efforts".

She looks forward to expanding her students' learning in the ever-changing college testing landscape.
