About this course:

This course offers a practical introduction to the basics of maintaining a home garden. At their garden plot, students gain first-hand experience in tool selection and care, soil preparation, planting, fertilizing, and watering. Topics include common landscape problems and solutions; our special climate and microclimates, including sun and shade exposures; various pruning techniques; types of irrigation systems; gardening in containers; and gardening with color including perennials, annuals, and bulbs.
