Receiving Your Check
Private loans will be equally disbursed over your quarters of enrollment for the current school year. Loan proceeds will be sent from the lender electronically and disbursed via UCLA accounts billing and receivable system (Bruin Direct), once we verify that you are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units.
If you selected a lender who does NOT participate in the electronic process, your paper check(s) will be sent to UCLA Student Loan Services. You will be required to pick-up your private loan check in person at the Strathmore Building, Room 106 on the UCLA campus. To find out if your check(s) are available for pick-up, please contact the UCLA Extension Financial Aid Office. Checks are disbursed 3-5 days before the quarter starts and must be picked-up within three weeks of the beginning of the quarter to avoid cancellation. To receive your private loan check(s) you must:
- Have already paid for classes at UCLA Extension
- Present your registration receipts showing "PAID" in a minimum of six (6) units. Courses must be taken for a letter grade. Courses numbered 700-900 are not eligible for private loans.
- Show a valid picture ID: United States driver's license, California ID, Military ID, or passport.
