Film Development and Production Summer Internship - True North

ABOUT TRUE NORTH
True North is a film production and financing venture founded by Nathan Kahane and backed by Entertainment 360, with support from its capital partner, The Carlyle Group. The company develops, produces, and finances feature films in collaboration with both established and emerging filmmakers, with a focus on bold, distinctive projects designed for wide theatrical release.
 

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
We are offering a summer internship opportunity for students interested in film development, production, and the business of filmmaking. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to how projects are identified, developed, packaged, and positioned in today’s marketplace. The program is designed to provide a strong foundation in both the creative and strategic sides of the industry, with direct mentorship from the True North team.
 

PROGRAM DETAILS
● Location: Los Angeles, CA (in-person)
● Program Dates: September 14 through December 10, 2026
● Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
● This is an in-person internship based in Los Angeles, CA.
● Please note: This is an unpaid internship for school credit only. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive academic credit.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Read scripts and other material and provide written coverage
● Conduct research on writers, directors, talent, and underlying IP
● Track industry trends, including spec sales, packaging activity, and box office performance
● Assist in synthesizing development notes and participating in internal discussions
● Sit in on meetings (when appropriate) to observe project strategy and development conversations
 

QUALIFICATIONS
● Current college student eligible to receive academic credit
● Strong interest in film, television, and the entertainment industry
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills & strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
● Strong attention to detail & proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn
● Familiarity with screenplay format and coverage is a plus
