Interior Design Intern - Alexander Design

Alexander Design is looking for a creative part-time Intern with to join our young and vibrant Santa Monica studio. The ideal candidate is a hard working and enthusiastic person looking for an exciting opportunity within a small, design-focused team.

OUR STUDIO:

Alexander Design is a globally-recognized Los Angeles and New York based interior design firm specializing in residential, retail, and hospitality environments. Founded by design principal Vanessa Alexander, we are a creative team dedicated to crafting holistic spaces informed by our clients’ visions, lifestyles, and stories.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Organize and maintain sample library.
• Coordinate with vendors and visit showrooms.
• Assist Project Designers in the execution of specific assignments including assisting with digital drafting, renderings, presentations, procurement, and documentation for projects.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Interior Design or related field or current enrollment in an Architecture or Interior Design program or industry experience
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible with a passion for interior design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Revit experience considered a plus.
• Computer literacy required.
• Must have a reliable car and ability to drive in California.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.

*This is a part-time, paid position with option for school credit. This is an in-person position in our Los Angeles design studio.
