JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant to support a residential home remodel in Pasadena, CA. This is a hands-on role focused on furniture, lighting, fixtures, finishes, materials, and décor sourcing, as well as organizing and coordinating the many details of an active renovation project. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for interiors and a thoughtful, cohesive design sensibility, along with the organizational skills to turn a design direction into a finished space.
This is a full-time, 3-month temporary position at $30/hour, with the potential for additional work depending on project needs.
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
RISTICH LLC is a Pasadena-based design and innovation studio working across creative, product, fabrication, and experiential projects. We bring a hands-on, multidisciplinary approach to design, combining creative development with practical execution and production.
DAILY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and source furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, tile, finishes, textiles, décor, and other interior elements based on established design direction and mood boards.
- Research vendors and manufacturers, request pricing and samples, track lead times, and maintain organized sourcing and purchasing information.
- Assist with coordinating the various details of the remodel, including communicating with vendors, contractors, showrooms, and other project contacts.
- Create and maintain organized spreadsheets, product lists, budgets, finish schedules, and other project documentation.
- Assist with site visits, sample reviews, presentations, and general project coordination as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES:
- Degree or current/recent coursework in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a closely related design field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong visual and aesthetic sensibility, particularly in residential interiors, furniture, materials, and finishes. A strong portfolio and design eye are more important than extensive professional experience.
- Excellent research, organization, communication, and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage many details and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfortable researching products online and working with vendors, showrooms, manufacturers, and contractors.
- Familiarity with design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar programs is a plus, but not required.
