Litigation Paralegal - The Law Offices of Jonathon Farahi
Litigation Paralegal - The Law Offices of Jonathon Farahi
Law Offices of Jonathon S. Farahi. Santa Monica. Plaintiff personal injury.
I'm hiring a point guard — a paralegal who runs the operational tempo of the firm and makes everyone else better. You'll work closely with me and our new associate attorney.
The Role:
You own the files at the procedural level. You know what's happening on every case, what's due, what's been served, what's outstanding. You handle filings, calendar discipline, deposition logistics, records, courtesy copies, client communication, and paralegal-to-paralegal correspondence with opposing counsel.
You're not just executing tasks. You're running the daily operation.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain the firm calendar across all active matters
- Run e-filings through One Legal and the relevant California court systems
- Coordinate deposition logistics: court reporters, conference rooms, interpreters, vendor invoicing
- Issue records requests and chase them to completion
- Handle service of process: certified mail, hand service via vendor, publication tracking
- Handle direct client communication on case status, scheduling, and routine questions
- Deal with opposing counsel paralegals on procedural matters
- Maintain document production and trial-prep mechanics
- Order and manage medical records when needed
What I Require:
- 5-7+ years California civil litigation paralegal experience; plaintiff PI strongly preferred
- Substantive knowledge of California civil procedure, court filing systems, and litigation tempo
- Verifiable track record of reliability and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and run your own workload
- Comfort on the phone with clients and opposing counsel
- Paralegal certificate preferred
What I'll Coach:
- Our specific case management software
- Our court-specific vendors and runners
- Firm-specific procedural style
- If you have the substantive paralegal grounding, I can teach the rest.
What I Care About:
- Organized. Tidy. Self-starter. Mature. Reliable. Independent. A mix of detail-obsessed and common-sense.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Zero tolerance for unreliability. Attendance is the floor.
Compensation: $30–$40 per hour ($62,400–$83,200 annualized), plus year-end discretionary bonus. Competitive benefits. 4-day/hybrid optionality.**
How to Apply:
- Email a résumé and a short note about why this fits you to **admin@countonjon.com**. Subject: "Litigation Paralegal – [Your Last Name]."
- Every application gets a response within ten business days.
Position open until filled. Equal opportunity employer.
