About This Course
This course introduces Yiddish through its rich heritage of song and folklore. We use clear, easy-to-read English transliterations, eliminating the initial barrier of learning a new alphabet until later. Each week focuses on a facet of Yiddish culture—from folkloric legends and holiday greetings to family memories and music.
