UCLA Extension’s International Student Services Office (ISS) will help you keep track of your F-1 status while studying at UCLA Extension.

Our services include advising on:

  • Document preparation for F-1 student visas
  • Visa status changes
  • I-20 transfers from one school to another
  • Temporary travel outside the U.S.
  • F1 visa rules and regulations guidance to aid in F-1 visa student status maintenance

The ISS reviews your enrollment every quarter and updates your status in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). We will contact you if any changes need to be made in your quarterly enrollment for you to remain in valid F-1 status.

Your ISS advisor must be notified in advance and approve any of the following actions.

Please note: The responsibility for remaining in status at all times is yours alone. It is not the school’s responsibility, and it is not the responsibility of your International Student Advisor to keep you in status.
