About this course:

This comprehensive course reviews three main areas:  Dental/osseous pathology of the jaws, radiation biology and radiation physics.   Osseous pathology of the jaws surveys the wide variety of dental and osseous abnormalities of developmental, infectious, traumatic, neoplastic or systemic origin. In all cases particular emphasis will be placed on the radiographic manifestations of these abnormalities on a variety of imaging modalities. This course reviews foundational knowledge regarding a variety of topics in radiation biology, including but not limited to, biologic effects of ionizing radiation, radiation safety and radiation carcinogenesis.   This course reviews foundational knowledge regarding a variety of topics in radiation physics, including but not limited to, radiation production, radiation measurement, Image receptors, image quality and the physics of CT and MRI.
