About This Course

This clinical course is designed to allow orthodontic preceptor to observe and assist chairside with the postgraduate orthodontic residents for comprehensive patient care in the orthodontic practice. Preceptors will work closely with orthodontic residents to gain clinical training in treating a variety of malocclusion under the close guidance of all the part-time and full-time orthodontic faculty. Preceptors will be exposed to exceptional patient care includes the following: performing an orthodontic screening, developing a problem list, creating an appropriate treatment and biomechanics plan, executing that plan through clinical orthodontic visits, communicating with other dental and medical providers as needed to ensure optimal interdisciplinary care, and finishing their treatment at the standards of the American Board of Orthodontics.
