About this course:
Immersive media is a term which encompasses virtual, mixed, and augmented reality as well as large scale domes, projection mapping and location based entertainment venues. It is currently being incorporated into museums, theme parks, art installations, sports arenas, advertising, gaming, e-commerce, and much more. How can creators learn to produce effective and meaningful immersive content? This course provides a hands-on introduction to immersive media; what is it, what it is capable of, and where the industry is headed. Lessons cover production tools, concept generation, avatar and AI character integration, and how to craft an experience to fit specific goals. Students will design a concept for an immersive project that includes a full brief, pitch deck, and presentation. Guest speakers in the field provide practical examples by presenting their work.
