English Language Programs: American Language Center

American Culture and Communication (ACC)

COVID-19 Information

All American Language Center classes will take place online with live instruction in Fall 2020 and Winter 2021. An I-20 and F-1 visa is not required if studying online from your home country.

We will continue to offer online programs through Fall 2021, and on-campus programs will resume as soon as conditions permit.

American Culture and Communication (ACC)

American Culture and Communication (ACC) is a part-time option of the Intensive English Communication Program (IECP) that helps participants improve English skills while learning about American culture and life in Southern California.

Class topics include pop culture, American TV and movies, media studies, grammar, idioms and slang, business English, and more.

Enroll in ACC if you:

  • Want to study part time and don’t have an F-1 student visa
  • Want to improve your listening and speaking skills
  • Want to learn about American culture

The American Language Center is now offering all English language programs and courses online. Participate in interactive lessons in a virtual classroom from the comfort of your home.

To accommodate the needs of our students studying from all over the world, choose from two schedule options: Morning (9am–12pm PT) or Evening (4–7pm PT).

In order to enroll, participants must be 18 years of age or older at the start of the program. This program does not qualify for an F-1 visa. Dates and fees are subject to change without notice. See the application for all details.
