Jerome Sable
Jerome Sable is a director, writer, and composer of film, television, and commercials. He is currently in development on an animated studio feature, BETA WOLF, as well as a live-action independent horror-thriller, SKATE OR DIE. Sable’s first feature film, STAGE FRIGHT, a horror musical comedy starring Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf, premiered at SXSW Film Festival to critical acclaim and enthusiastic audience response, and was distributed by Magnolia Pictures. Before that, Sable’s horror musical short film, THE LEGEND OF BEAVER DAM, opened the Midnight Madness section of TIFF and went on to screen at over 75 film festivals worldwide, winning 17 awards, including “Best Short Film” at Sitges, Fantastic Fest, Dallas, Screamfest LA and receiving an honorable mention at Sundance. He adapted the short into a television show which he sold to Disney XD with his writing partner, Nicholas Musurca. Sable has worked as a writer-director / creator of film and television for NBC, Fox, Fremantle Media, Samsung, Blumhouse, Condé Nast, Gunpowder & Sky, Hideout Pictures, and is currently developing an animated comedy for Sony Pictures Animation. While studying directing at USC, Sable won the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award for his musical dance spot, which went on to screen on over 21,000 movie theatre screens across the U.S. Sable grew up in Montreal, Quebec where he studied piano and music theory at the McGill Conservatory of Music. He has a B.A. in philosophy from Brown University and an MFA in directing from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
