Nicky Amore
My path into teaching began when I was studying martial arts. I taught self-defense to adults with special needs and I knew I would spend my life teaching subjects I love.
I fell in love with finance while I was a store manager at Starbucks. I had employees who asked me about their employee stock purchase plans and insurance benefits. I took one class and then asked the instructor how I could do what he did. He invited me to work with him and I switched to the financial industry in 2015. Since I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and Master of Business Administration, I am determined to share my passion and enthusiasm for finance with the next generation of the industry. I currently volunteer with Savvy Ladies, an organization determined to reduce disparities in financial education for women and minorities.
In addition to teaching, I am a financial planner. I earned my Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Loyola University Chicago and also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University. My other activities have included member of Alphia Phi Omega, member of Rotary International, volunteer with University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, crisis volunteer with Resilience, and recipient of BVM: Sisters of Charity Scholarship for Leadership.
