Ramo Khem

Dr. Ramo Khem’s experience in architecture and BIM spans over 17 years. He brings a wealth of experience through his diverse industry background experience with high-budget transit projects for LA Metro and Mid-Coast Transit, large-scale hospitality projects, and large-scale educational institution projects. Dr. Khem served as a Senior Architect for Bechtel, as a BIM Manager for Clark Construction, as a Solutions Manager at Herzog, as a Design Lead for Skanska, and as a Project Engineer for Ledcor. With progressive experience in both design and construction, he has acquired a skill set to expand the use of BIM technology, methods and practices across multiple functions.

Dr. Khem received his Doctor of Architecture (D. Arch) from the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he received extensive education in Architecture and Urban Design. His doctoral thesis studied the migration, settlement, and adaptation of communities and their impacts on the transformation of host cities in the United States. He used GIS software for gathering, processing, analyzing, and displaying geo-referenced information to open paths for spatial thinking and for the discovery of complex relationships that are revealed most clearly in geographical context.

Dr. Khem has gained national recognition for a LEED Platinum disaster relief effort that is part of a large-scale residential U.S. Green Building Council and Salvation Army campaign in five neighborhoods in New Orleans, facilitating the construction of 125 new homes and the renovation of 125 existing homes over the duration of three years through the provision of grant financing to homebuyers and homeowners.
