About This Course

Devasting fires in California have been trending upwards since the Bel Air Fire of 1961. Since the early 2000s the trend has amplified. Unfortunately, the worst may still be ahead—the intensity of fire weather has been growing alongside the warming climate. Whether landscape designer, homeowner, horticulturist or home gardener, every Californian should know the basics of protecting their families and clients from wildfire.
This immersive, hands-on learning experience provides a solid foundation in landscaping for fire protection. Learners will gain practical skills that have immediate application. They will be able to perform risk assessments, articulate best practices, and prescribe remedies that provide long-term care and protection.
