Jalilvand Law Corporation (JLC) is seeking a ‘Super Star’ Paralegal who is enthusiastic about collaborating with a dynamic team of attorneys, case managers, and fellow paralegals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency in business software, and a proactive approach to managing deadlines and tasks. A true team player who understands personal accountability is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and hands-on experience in civil litigation, including motion practice, electronic filing of legal pleadings, and trial preparation.
  • Support attorneys by maintaining files and drafting various legal documents, such as motions, ex parte applications, demand letters, and discovery responses.
  • Calendar and track key litigation deadlines (e.g., SOLs, discovery cutoffs, motions, and hearing dates), proactively coordinating reminders and follow-ups to ensure timely filings.
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources, providing written analysis to attorneys.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements.
  • Prepare, organize, and store case files, including evidence, depositions, pleadings, and other related items.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings.
  • Develop and maintain records of billable hours spent on specific cases.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of recent civil litigation experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of civil litigation trial experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal injury law.
  • Fluency in Spanish (verbal and written) required.
  • Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft/Google, legal software, and typing at least 45 wpm.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines, including occasional extended hours.
  • Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to receive and implement constructive criticism and take direction effectively.
  • Team player with the capability to supervise and delegate tasks to support staff.
