Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate Planner

This program offers professional preparation in teaching English to speakers of other languages.

The curriculum consists of one non-credit introductory course and five core courses. Students must take EDUC 825 before taking any other course in the certificate. Students may elect to take an optional teaching experience course as well. This certificate can be completed in as little as one year.

Admission Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher required. Minimum English language proficiency for non-native English speakers: TOEFL score of 85, IELTS of 6.5, or DuoLingo of 55 required.

Certificate Completion Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum certificate GPA of 3.0. Each course counts towards the certificate only if the student receives a grade of C or better.
