About this course:

EC Engr 231A “Information Theory: Channel and Source Coding” Prof. Wesel Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour; outside study, seven hours. Requisite: course 131A. Fundamental limits on compression and transmission of information. Topics include limits and algorithms for lossless data compression, channel capacity, rate versus distortion in loss y compression, and information theory for multiple users.
