Canh Oxelson

M.Ed. Since 2011, he has served as the Executive Director of College Counseling at Horace Mann School (Bronx, NY). He began his college admissions career at his alma mater, the University of San Francisco, where he earned a B.A. in Psychology. After short stints in admissions at USF, Saint Mary's College of California, and the University of California at Santa Cruz, he earned an M.Ed. in Educational Policy from Harvard's Graduate School of Education. Afterward, He returned to admissions as the Director of Multicultural Recruitment for the University of Pennsylvania leading their effort to increase access and improve equity in the college admissions process.

Currently he serves on the New Directors Workshop faculty for the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools and is a regular presenter/speaker at community-based organizations on the topic of college admissions. He is a member of the Association of Black Admissions and Financial Aid Officers of the Ivy League and Sister Schools (ABAFAOILSS) and has also served on admission advisory boards at the University of Michigan, the University of Chicago, University of Francisco, and California Institute of Technology. Before coming to Horace Mann, he served eight years as Upper School Dean/College Counselor and Department Chair at a private high school in Los Angeles,
