Dana Leland

Hello! My name is Dana Leland. I am a Native Texan and have lived in San Antonio all my life. I hold a BBA in Accounting from the University of Incarnate Word, an MBA in Business from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master's in Taxation from FAU, and a PhD in Finance from NCU. My professional experience includes working in both the public and private accounting sectors. I have worked in manufacturing for the past eight years. Some companies include Bausch & Lomb and Fairchild Aerospace Corporation. Most recently, I worked for a global manufacturing company as the Assistant Controller. My main job was to manage the Finance & IT Department of the Division. I was able to wear many hats in my position, especially in the Budget and Strategic Planning functional areas. Currently, I teach college courses at a local university in the areas of accounting and taxation. In my spare time, I teach online courses in the accounting, finance, and management areas. I also do freelance writing for a small web-based marketing firm. My articles focus on tax laws and accounting solutions for small businesses. I truly enjoy writing and have written for several companies, including Accounting SmartPros. Past topics have ranged from internal auditing to developing core competencies. As you can see, I like keeping busy...My hobbies include entertaining my 2 year-old son, Tate, and his twin brothers - Banks and Rush, cycling, watching movies, and Ebaying. I am also a huge San Antonio Spurs fan and try to attend at least one game per season. Go Spurs Go!
