Jeff Duclos

Jeff Duclos has taught public relations courses at UCLA Extension since 1992. From serving as the Mayor of a city, to booking an entertainment industry client on the Super Bowl, arguably one of the most coveted and competitive placements in media, he brings nearly 30 years experience as a successful practitioner to his teaching. With expertise extending into numerous specialty areas of public relations practice, including corporate entertainment, event planning, personal representation, high fashion, nonprofits, corporate reputation management, retail promotions, litigation public relations and government, he incorporates a practical and personal perspective to building understanding of the theory and evolution of public relations.

He is currently the principal of VonJessen-Duclos Inc., a Hermosa Beach-based consulting business established in 1998. In addition to serving as Mayor of the City of Hermosa Beach, he is a former Commissioner with the California Coastal Commission. In addition to UCLA Extension, he has taught public relations courses in the Journalism Department of California State University, Northridge since 2005. Born in Los Angeles and raised in San Diego, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from UCLA.
