An Intimate Look at the Real Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury is one of the most gifted and beloved cultural icons of all time. His dazzling, flamboyant stage persona was his own assiduously crafted creation, yet it was also a mask he contrived to obscure his intrinsic shyness. In this course, we explore the endearing, complex man behind the mask, and watch incredible videos of the performances that established Freddie Mercury as one of rock music’s greatest frontman and singer. In the words of Lady Gaga, "He was unique. A fantastic performer, a man of the theater, and someone who constantly transformed himself. In other words, a genius." This course uses the Hybrid format which allows students to participate remotely and/or in the classroom. This course will be recorded. Students will have access to videos for the duration of the course.
