California Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Guidance Committee member, Pamela Brief, ASLA, to the Landscape Architects Technical Committee. As a committee member, Pamela will help enforce the laws and regulations that govern the licensing practice of landscape architecture in California.
Pamela’s involvement with UCLA Extension's Landscape Architecture program started in 2019 as a design studio guest critic and Capstone Studio review panelist. Invited to join the UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program’s Guidance Committee in 2020, she helps ensure our curriculum meets state and industry professional standards.
Pamela served two years as the President of ASLA Southern California Chapter. Prior to the role of Chapter President, she served in the role of Programs Chair, as well as the Chair of the Quality of Life Design Awards in 2018. A member of the American Society of Landscape Architects since 1996, Pamela is also a member of the American Institute of Architects-Los Angeles, Association of Women in Architecture, Commercial Real Estate Women Los Angeles, and Friends of the Los Angeles River. She was previously a landscape designer and principal at Walt Disney Imagineering from 1992 to 2004 and area developmental designer at Walt Disney Imagineer Paris from 1989 to 1992. An accomplished designer, manager and collaborator, Pamela is active in the landscape design community and enjoys mentoring students and emerging professionals.
Pamela is a licensed landscape architect (CA5013) and President of Pamela Studios Inc.
