Receiving Your Academic Credentials

Certificates and Specializations

The My Certificates and Specializations link on your Student Portal can help you to monitor your academic progress. Once you have completed your final courses, reach out to your program representative to request an audit of your certificate and/or specialization program requirements.

The UCLA Extension Office of the Registrar will post your certificate or award of completion (for specializations) to your transcript once your program representative verifies all requirements have been met. Your transcript is your official academic record at UCLA Extension.

You will be notified of the timeline for delivery once your award is posted to your transcript. Please note that standard USPS may take up to four weeks to arrive.*

Earned with Distinction
Students who complete their academic certificate programs with a GPA of 3.5 or higher have the honor “Earned with Distinction” cited on their certificate and posted to their academic transcript.

*Note: Standard USPS has no tracking information and may be lost in transit. If you wish to request an expedited delivery of your award via FedEx, you may do so once you have been contacted of the award.
To pay the FedEx fee: (1) Log into your student portal, (2) Click on “Special Requests”, (3) Add FedEx Shipping Fee: Domestic $40.00” or FedEx Shipping Fee: International $62.50” to your cart, and (4) Pay by credit card at checkout.
If you live outside of the U.S., it is recommended you choose expedited shipping via FedEx in order to track the package. If you chose free USPS shipping and your award gets lost in the mail, there is no recourse other than payment of a $45 fee to re-issue the credential.
