About this course:

An important topic in data processing is to perform numerical computations to transform the input data to certain output. While there are many different types of real-world applications, they share a relatively small number of common core algorithms. This course introduces these core numerical methods in a practical style using the Python language. The Python package for numerical computing, Numpy, is used for high-speed computation and for implementing these methods. Understanding of these fundamental methods is beneficial when the students apply the methods beyond this class. 
Suggested Prerequisites

It is advisable that you complete the following (or equivalent) since they are prerequisites for Numerical Computing Using Python.

COM SCI X 418.104B Python Programming I or equivalent experience
