Jason Rosenfield

Jason Rosenfield’s film editing resume includes multiple Emmy Awards, an Oscar nomination, a Peabody, DGA and R.F. Kennedy Awards, and collaborations with directors ranging from Hollywood legend Robert Altman to three-time Oscar-winning documentarian Mark Jonathan Harris. A sought-after story consultant as well, he has had a significant impact on a broad range of independent and documentary films. As a producer of numerous seminars for the Television Academy and American Cinema Editors [ACE], a mentor leading international workshops through the State Department’s American Film Showcase and as a teacher at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and Columbia College Hollywood, he continues to influence a widening network of emerging filmmakers across the U.S., Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Rosenfield’s articles have appeared in industry publications CineMontage and CinemaEditor, the latter having published in its 2021 first quarter issue a manuscript excerpt from his craft-based memoir, My Secret Lives: Confessions of a Film Editor. His essay Subject to Change will appear in PERFORM: Editing for the Screen, part of a book series to be published by Focal Press/Routledge. Rosenfield has served as Associate Director of the ACE Board, three terms as Governor of the Television Academy and almost two decades on its Picture Editors and Documentary Peer Group Executive Committees.
