The U.S. Department of Education requires colleges and universities to disclose certain information for any financial aid eligible program that, “prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation”. An internship in emergency and risk management can provide you with practical experience in a variety of emergency management job functions. Students must be officially enrolled in the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Certificate and have successfully completed all five of the required courses, with a GPA of 3.0 or better, before enrolling in the internship.
Take advantage of an agreement between UCLA Extension and California State University Long Beach to complete your Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration. Graduates of this certificate may apply 12 quarter units (three 4-unit courses) or a maximum of 8 semester units toward CSULB's MS in Emergency Services Administration.*
