Career Resources
UCLA Career Center Resources - Students actively enrolled in a Certificate Program and Extension Alumni with an earned Certificate can subscribe to BruinView, the UCLA Career Center online job board where employers across industries post job and internship opportunities at all career levels. Subscription to BruinView includes free admission to job fairs hosted by the Career Center at the UCLA main campus and Resume Critique Services at an additional cost. Access to BruinView is available to Certificate students and alumni only, click here for subscription and eligibility details.
Career Coaching (new) - UCLA Extension is now offering individualized and customized online career coaching, powered by InsideTrack, in a joint partnership with the UCLA Alumni Association and the UCLA Career Center. Get an edge with access to one-on-one meetings with a professional coach and templates and tools to help with a career search. This service is affordable: choose from three subscription options, including a base option.

Professional Development and Networking
UCLA Extension American Marketing Association Student Group (UCLAx AMA) - The UCLA Extension American Marketing Association group is dedicated to bringing together individuals who are passionate about marketing, leadership and professional development. Their mission is to provide members with opportunities to apply marketing concepts to real world projects, including event planning and business market research. Your UCLA Alumni Association
The UCLA Alumni Association is a strong and active network of alumni spanning the country and the globe! UCLA Extension certificate graduates are automatically members of this engaging and active community. Members can participate in exciting programs and activities including world-class cultural events, one of the top athletic programs in the country and continuous opportunities to meet fellow alumni, expand social and professional networks, and feed one's intellectual curiosity.
UCLA Extension pre-certification graduates and current non-certificate students taking Extension courses can also choose to be a part of the UCLA Alumni Association by registering for a Blue or Gold Membership. Course Types
Online - These courses are fully online, and there are no in-person classroom meetings. Course interaction will be handled in the learning management system, Canvas. Within the learning management system, students will access lectures, assignments, quizzes, discussions, and other course materials and tools.
Hybrid - These courses utilize a combination of in-person classroom meetings and fully online meetings. Within the learning management system, Canvas, students will access a range of course materials such as lectures, assignments, quizzes or discussions.
Web-Enhanced - These courses meet in person and make use of an online presence to varying degrees. Students will access the learning management system, Canvas, for course documents such as the syllabus and course materials.

Technical Requirements for Online & Hybrid Courses
  • Students must have basic computer skills, including the use of word processing software, email, and the ability to use internet browsers, such as Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.
  • Students are responsible for meeting the technical requirements of Canvas and familiarizing themselves with the Canvas Learning Management System.

  • Students are responsible for keeping a copy of all assignments and work submitted, and for being aware of all assignments, due dates, and course guidelines.
