Required Courses
Navigate the complex, multi-faceted world of real estate investing and financing and prepare for a variety of career opportunities available in the industry.
Our real estate finance courses are designed to help newcomers and established real estate professionals learn to analyze property values and returns on real estate investments and investment portfolios, as well as understand the strategies and factors driving real estate markets. The program provides you with a comprehensive understanding of real estate investments, which include: rental housing, shopping centers, office complexes, REITs, and the risks and rewards of each.
Graduates of the program are prepared to take on roles such as real estate financial analyst, portfolio manager or real estate appraiser. Program curriculum is approved by the UCLA Anderson School of Management and all courses are taught by working industry professionals who bring their personal insights to the classroom. Our dynamic learning environment lets you connect with instructors and classmates, some of whom are already established in the industry.
Whether you’re new to the business or a veteran, our program will prepare you to succeed in this exciting and lucrative industry.

An internship in real estate can provide you with practical experience in a variety of real estate job functions. To be eligible for the internship, students are to complete all the required courses within the certificate with a GPA of 3.0 or better before applying and enrolling in the internship course.
The UCLA Extension Real Estate Scholarship Fund was established in 2024 in partnership with Coldwell Banker Cares Foundation to provide financial assistance and greater access to education that students need while pursuing their careers in real estate.
This scholarship provides funding for an individual who has a passion for continuing education and professional development in real estate and who is working toward completion of one of the four real estate certificate programs. The scholarship is awarded bi-annually, each fall and spring quarter, and covers the cost of one course within the real estate certificate programs offered by UCLA Extension (value up to $900).
