About this course:

Sustaining a writing practice in today’s climate can be both isolating, challenging, and time consuming when dealing with our own life obligations and occupations. You don’t have to do it alone. In this 3-hour webinar, we’ll look at opportunities to further our craft in collaborative spaces concerned with process more than product—what types of communal support are out there for writers? We’ll look at how to help your residency, conference, and fellowship application stand out in a submission pile. Learn what you need to include in your sample, and how to write an effective artist statement and cover letter to obtain funding and institutional support for your creative work. You’ll leave with tips and tricks from jurors and panelists of several residency, grant, and conferences across the country, a better understanding of how to speak about your artistic process and intentions in a clear and concise manner, and a draft of your artist statement or proposal letter, ready to revise for your own applications.
