  • Identify codes and basic engineering principles and graphic presentations related to plumbing systems design
  • Provide a brief plumbing history
  • Implement load calculations, piping design, and equipment selection, based upon the latest issue of several plumbing codes
  • Choose fixtures and piping material from optional selections
  • Describe concepts of sanitary waste and vent, traps, pumps, and sewage ejectors, potable hot and cold water, and storm water

About this course:

This course reviews codes and basic engineering principles and graphic presentations related to plumbing systems design, including load calculations, piping design, and equipment selection--based upon the latest issue of several plumbing codes. Instruction also covers plumbing fixtures and piping material selection. Topics include a brief plumbing history, plumbing fixtures, sanitary waste and vent, traps, pumps and sewage ejectors, potable hot and cold water, and storm water.
Suggested Prerequisites

It is advisable that you complete the following (or equivalent) since they are prerequisites for Plumbing Systems I: Code and Engineering Fundamentals.

Minimum of one year of employment in Plumbing or other Engineering field.
